We invite Burden Rivers, upcoming London rap star, to give us a brief tour of London's music scene and nightlife

Findahood.com has invited upcoming London rap star Burden Rivers to give some advice on London nightlife!

When you're looking for a decent night out in London, it can be extremely hard to find something that will suit exactly what you're looking for.  Here's a rough guide to what you can find in London's different areas.

If it's live bands you're looking for, the best places to see the next big things are in and around Camden, Old Street and New Cross.  These places are bustling with bars and live music venues suited to the arty students around them.  Venues such as 333 Mother bar, XOYO, Underbelly in Old Street are known for putting on talented unsigned bands which attract a trendy, skinny-jeans-wearing crowd. Camden offers a more traditional array of music, open to any and every band. Traditionally, the best venue here is The Dublin Castle. Over the years the intimate pub venue has played host to the likes of Madness and Amy Winehouse. New Cross offers two main venues, The New Cross Inn and The Amersham Arms. These two are firm fan favourites on the unsigned circuit of London.

If you're on the lookout for a spot of clubbing then you might want to hit London's West End. The only setback with venues in this area is that they can often be popular with tourists so avoid obvious Leicester Square and stick to the smaller streets and bars or nearby areas such as Soho, which is full of clubs and late night bars to keep you dancing all night long. Unashamed favourites include Picadilly Institute and Bar Soho. Leicester Square is however, home to London's best known Casinos too, so if you fancy yourself at Roulette, it's a great place to head to at any hour of the day or night.

There is a great variation of entertainment on offer so when searching for something different, take your time to look around!  Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes offers a fantastic night out – traditional 1950's rock ‘n’ roll music and bowling, karaoke booths and the biggest pizzas in town!

Undoubtedly, you will always find what you're looking for in London as long as you take your time and try out a wide variety of places.  More often than not, you will find that you have a great time as London's music scene is one of the greatest in the world, providing year-round evening entertainment on every night of the week!
