If money isn't a limiting factor in your property dream, what exactly can money buy you? We take a look at One Hyde Park, the most expensive residential property in Britain.

It may come as no surprise that Britain's most expensive residential area is located in the heart of London, one of the most influential cities in the world.

One Hyde Park

Currently the most expensive residential property in Britain is One Hyde Park, this is a residential development overlooking the huge Hyde Park, comprising of 86 properties with prices starting at a whopping £20,000,000!

Sales

It is reported that the Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue and the Prime Minister of Qatar are some of its property owners. Whether they spend their time there is another matter.

In August 2010 it was rumoured that a penthouse apartment was sold for £140 million making it the most expensive residential property in Britain. This transaction has not appeared in the Land Registry but this may not have been a private sale, e.g. it is possible it could have been a business to business sale.

Repossession

Last month in September 2013 a one bedroom property worth £5.25 million owned by an Irish property developer was repossessed and sold for £5.2 million just three weeks after coming onto the market. It is currently advertised as "an exciting opportunity" by estate agents Strutt & Parker for any deep pocketed house seekers, featuring temperature controlled wine coolers, gymnasium, swimming pool and its own maid service.

Would you live here?

If you had millions with which to buy a house, would you like to live here? Or would you expect a much larger house with many more bedrooms for this kind of price tag? Maybe it is just a status purchase?
