What permitted payments can I expect to pay if I rent a property with Argyle?
Holding Fee
A holding fee for any property must be paid at the time of the application. This is the equivalent to one weeks rent. The holding fee is charged when you apply to rent a property but have not yet signed the tenancy agreement. The holding fee will be withheld if any relevant person (including guarantor) withdraw from the tenancy, fail a Right to Rent check, provide false or misleading information, or fail to sign their tenancy agreement withing 15 calendar days.
Deposits - Rent under £50 000 per year - five weeks rent as a deposit. Rent over £50 000 per year - six weeks rent as a deposit. This covers any damages to the property or anything more than fair wear and tear and is lodged with the Deposit Protection Service.
Variation/change of the Tenancy/Contract - £50 (inc. VAT).
Payment of interest for late payment of rent at a rate of 3% above the Bank of England Base Rate from Rent Due Date until paid in order to pursue non-payment of rent.
